You're on the top floor of the Park Inn enjoying a city view as spectacular as the Fernsehturm's but for half the price (€5) and you're buzzing with the possibility of winning this measly entrance fee back a thousand fold. Located in the conference room of a former GDR hotel, this one floor casino has undergone three refurbishments since its post-Mauerfall opening. Now it has settled for a 1990s elegant-kitsch feel, although parts of the original décor - like an edifying mural depicting the proletariat in action - have simply been boarded up. The single-floor casino offers five American roulette tables, three blackjack tables, four poker tables with a minimum bet of €100 and a cocktail bar. The dress code requires that men wear jackets, but you can borrow one on the spot if necessary. The casino's 170 slot machines are on the ground floor of the Fernsehturm. The place is dark, cave-like and filled with rows upon rows of electrically-lit pokie machines. An unintentional highlight is the German Dolly Parton lookalike who works the bar. The minimum bet is 10 cents but you have to play at least €5. A day ticket costs €1 and an annual pass €50. Dress code-wise, literally anything goes.
