Curated by its new director Udo Kittelman, Die Kunst ist super! ('Art is super!') - a 10,000 sqm show of megastars and old (modern) masters - brings out some of the best and boldest of the museum’s collection. A trained optician rather than an art historian, Kittelman brings a colloquial perspective to the esoteric themes of contemporary art, employing Pop gimmicks and scattered thematics to highlight the museum's stellar works. The result is a rambling, chicken-gumbo mix. |
